The Ventura Film Festival has earned recognition as "the biggest cinematic celebration ever hosted in Ventura County." This remarkable achievement reflects the event's devotion to bringing diverse cinema to the local community while continuing its mission toward important environmental matters.

The Ventura Film Festival functions as an unrestricted genre international film festival that cultivates understanding of ecological concerns including woodland and marine conservation and recovery, by means of a yearly cinema celebration and connected programs. The festival leverages the impact of filmmaking to motivate engagement and foster important conversations about these pressing environmental challenges.

The Ventura Film Festival began in 2004 and has screened hundreds of films, usually over 200 films each summer, and has attracted attention from the international film community.
